maleficent makeup

I just watched the movie 'maleficent' for the first time and I'm obsessed so I decided to try to recreate Angelina jolie's makeup from the film.

For this look I used:
(I already had on basic makeup from the day before I started, foundation(mac studio sculpt), powder (mac studio fix),
brown eyeshadow (from the I heart chocolate eyeshadow palette),loreal miss manga mascara, ardell Demi-whispie lashes.)
- I then added bahama mama bronzer for a heavy contour
- more dark eyeshadow all around my eyes
nars lipstick jungle red

Enhance your hair colour with tea or coffee

A few months ago I started having allergic reactions to brown hair dyes both permanent and non- permanent. I've dyed my hair for years and had been fine but since I had the first allergic reaction a few months ago, even if I use dyes I'd previously used I still get reactions they go within a day or 2 but it isn't worth the risk.

In the past iv seen posts about dying your hair naturally with tea and coffee and never thought to try it because it seemed messy and time consuming and the results were always so subtle but I decided to give it ago my self but I haven't followed the instructions completely iv just done it my own way to make it a bit easier for me.

I just want to make my hair look a bit more rich because it's looking very dull, and the caffeine in coffee is good for hair growth aswel.
I put 5 teabags in boiling water and added 2 spoonfuls of coffee then left it about 20 mins in the fridge to cool (make sure you test the temperature with your finger before you put on your hair.)
Then I decided to also make a coffee conditioning mask so I mixed 5 spoonfuls of coffee with a few spoonfuls of the black tea and a few pumps of conditioner and stirred by the end I think I used about 10 pumps of conditioner.

First I tipped the tea onto my hair this was very messy and harder than i thought it would be it was just dripping off and going everywhere so I was glad I also made the coffee mask because it would be easier to apply to my hair than the tea because it's thicker because of the conditioner.
Me with the tea in my hair, as you can see It just looks like I wet my hair so I don't know if it would have done anything, I  only left it on for 10 mins before applying the coffee conditioner mask straight on top of it.
I also got it on my face as you can see in the pic.
I left the coffe hair mask on for about 30 mins then washed It out with shampoo and conditioner.

Left: before.  Right: after
There's not really much difference in the colour but my hair did feel really soft afterwards, and in person it looked like some of the colours in my hair stood out more.

Then I curled the ends of my hair aswel

Then I decided to plait bits of my hair to make it look like a headband

The top ten tag!

The top ten tag!

1. foundation:
Mac studio sculpt foundation
I love dewy foundations but they sometimes look a bit too shiny where as this one has the fresh looming finish I want but with out the wet feel so I can get away with not using a powder but I do still usually use a bit of powder to set it.

2. Powder
Mac studio fix powderI love using this powder to set my foundation and it also gives an extra bit of coverage if I want it and doesn't look powdery.

3. Concealer
Collection lasting perfection concealer
I don't wear concealer daily but I recently bought this and been loving it.

4. Blush
Illamasqua lover
This is my favourite everyday blusher it just adds a bit of warmth to the cheeks and it's a matte.

5. Bronzer
Topshop bronzer mohawk (and tom ford bronzer)
This one was hard because I use 2 bronzers, I use the Tom Ford bronzer as a bronzer then the topshop bronzer for contouring. But if I had to choose one favourite it would be the topshop bronzer it's perfect for both bronzing and contouring.

6. Highlighter
The highlighter from the charlotte tilbury filmstar bronze and glow.
The highlighter from this compact is the best highlight iv used, iv since bought nars albetross but iv not had it long enough to decide wether I prefer that or not.

7. Mascara
Lancome hypnose star.
I'v ran out if this so iv been using loreal mascara wich I also love but I think the lancome one is my fave.

8. Eyeshadow
I heart chocolate eyeshadow palette
I love this palette it's only £8 but iv been using it everyday since I got it. I did a blog post about it
www.princesscaela89.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/i-heart-chocolate-palette.html?m=1

9. Brows:
Hd brow kit
I use 3 shades from this palette the (top row) middle and end and (bottom row) middle.

10. Lipstick:
Mac kinda sexy
I love this matte warm nude shade (it's not showing up true to colour in the pic) I wear it almost everyday.

Selfridges autumn beauty event 2014

Selfridges autumn beauty event.

I went to the selfridges autumn beauty event last night with Rachel (createdwithcosmetics.blogspot.co.uk)
Below is a pic of us before we went to the event
We booked a ticket for £10 each wich meant we got a wrist band and free drinks and chocolates and got the £10 back on a purchase so it was technically free.
We first had a mini bottle of prosecco each.
Then one of the stalls were taking pics for Instagram for selfridges and printing them on Polaroid style pics.
Here is rach getting her Instagram up.
This is the pic we took for raches Instagram cz I don't have it so I jumped in her pic
Iv now made use of my birchbox photo holder for the selfridges pic.

Then we were having a look around at the counters.

Look how pretty this perfume bottle is it's a shame it's about £400
Then we were given chocolate sparkly lips, here is Rach with hers.
Illamasqua counter (love there blushes)
Charlotte tilbury. I wanted to get the lipstick in Hepburn honey and the lip cheat lip liner pillow talk but I didn't end up getting them so I'm slightly regretting it but I will probably buy them next time I go selfridges.

Charlotte tilbury looks I love golden goddess and dolce vita.

Then we watched a Chanel seminar

Then we got to swatch the Chanel correcteur perfection long-lasting concealer. It is £27 to buy it is really nice but pricey for a concealer.

Then Rach was eyeing up the nars brushes

She wanted the nars Ita brush but she didn't end up getting it.
Then we went to the mac counter.
Rachel for a couple of things she will probably so a blog post so I won't ruin it by writing it on mine, I got a new studio sculpt foundation because I'm running low.
Then clinique have us each an envelope with 'special treats' on it and a kiss on the other side.
So we took them to the clinique counter and opened them I won a free makeover for any time (I didn't have it that night) and Rach was lucky and won a special prize a full size product I think they said there were only 5 people who would win them.

Rach holding the redeemable ticket I think she used it in mac to get her £10 back that she paid for her ticket.
Looked at charlotte tilbury again.

I don't have pics of all the counters, aswel as the mac foundation I also bought nars albetross and tom ford bronzer purely for the packaging because I origionnaly thought it was too light because I could barely see it when I swatched it but I tried it out today and it's lovely so I don't regret the hefty £68 price tag because it's a beautiful product.

If you spent over £75 you got to have ago if the pick and mix to get free goodies and everyone who did that got a 'respect your selfie' makeup bag (wich I eyed up on selfridges site a few times and although it's only £5 to buy it's £5 delivery and I never seem to order from there and I haven't seen the makeup bag in store and I thought it was a cool clear makeup bag not that I needed another makeup bag.) so the freebies I got was the makeup bag, charlotte tilbury samples, illamasqua nail polish, ysl nail polish and nars lipstick jungle red.

In the picture (above) the 3 things in front are the items I bought, and the stuff in the makeup bag are the freebies

When a product comes in it's own pouch it always makes it feel a bit more luxurious.
Nars lipstick jungle red, I'm so happy I got this freebie and it's my first nars lipstick, I will probably buy more.

I tried on the nars lipstick jungle red in the pics below, I love it, it's such a wearable red lipstick. The rest if my makeup is just what I had left on from this morning to go the shops, it's amazing how a red lipstick can make you look like you've made an effort even if you've barely got any other makeup on.
