Whats in my elf makeup bag

This makeup bag is from eyeslipsface.co.uk I like it best for carrying in my bag at the minute because is has 2 zipper openings, 1 for brushes and 1 for makeup.

The brushes I had in my makeup bag today are: real techniques buffing brush (for foundation, real techniques blush brush (for powder and bronzer),mac 168 (for contour), elf blush brush for blush and highlight, 2 sigma eye brushes (for eyeshadow) and an elf eye brush.

These are the items I have in my makeup bag today:

Loreal lumi magique foundation, maybelline eraser eye concealer, chanel les beiges healthy glow powder, elf eyebrow kit (dark), loreal eyeshadow quad (infiniment bronze), loreal volume million lashes mascara, sleek contour kit 'mainly for the highlighter because it's the only highlighter in my makeup bag', nars casino bronzer, mac refined golden bronzer, sleek blush 'lifes a peach', maybelline baby lips. For lipsticks I just had nude 1s with me today, maybelline lipstick 'pink brown', kate moss 113, and loreal evas nude lipstick. I usually have mac candy yum yum with me as a bright pink option but I was visiting my mum in wales and knew I wouldn't need a bright lipstick so I didn't bring It today.

These Eyeshadows are amazing really pigmented and I love bronzey Eyeshadows so I'm going to get a lot of use out of this quad and I love how small and slim the compact is so it's great for my makeup bag.

On the back of the quad it shows you where to put each eyeshadow 1 being the darkest shade and 4 being the light highlight shade. I didn't use it how it showed in the pic I put the lightest shade in my inner corners and under brows, the next shade up the bronzey shade all over my lids, the next shade medium brown in outer corners and under eyes and the darkest shade in my crease.

Left heavy swatch and right (you can't really see) is a swatch blended in a little, I could have blended it a bit more but it would then be invisible.

I agree with the 5 claims so far although I can't really say it lasts 8 hours because iv only had it on my face about 5 hours so far but it's still holding up and even if it doesn't last 8 hours it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me because I would just carry it with me and touch up with the sponge if needed. my face looks a bit paler after applying the powder but I think that's the only negative, and I would usually apply my bronzer and blush after the powder anyway.

This retails for £3.99 but I got it free because at the minute in superdrug if you spend £6 or more on barry m you get a free limited edition nail paint and I baught the bronzer for £9.99 so I got this free I'm loving it, iv had it on since Friday and I took the picture just now and it hasn't even chipped yet and it's a gorgeous summery colour.

Mac refined golden bronzer dupe

Iv loved the bourjois maxi delight bronzer for a long time, I'm quite fickle with bronzers one minute il love one and the next minute I will have a new favourite because it's probably my favourite makeup product and I'm always buying new ones trying to find the perfect bronzer. About a month ago I bought mac refined golden bronzer from the alluring aquatic collection (to be honest I think the packaging led me to buy it) and straight away after swatching It reminded me of my beloved bourjois bronzer

You get more product in the bourjois bronzer but mac refined golden is a bit more pigmented so you wouldn't have to use as much. I use these across my cheeks nose and forehead for a bronzy glowy look then use a darker cooler bronzer for contouring just under my cheekbones.

I prefer the mac bronzer now because it's easier for travelling because it fits better into my makeup bag and I love the packaging although it's limited edition packaging but they do have this bronzer in the origional mac packaging, I think the bourjois bronzer is a great cheaper alternative as it's only around £8 and the mac bronzer is around £20.

 I think I will probably use the bourjois bronzer for everyday and just use the mac bronzer for my makeup bag.

Makeup from a friend

I was at my lovely friend Amy's house last night (she is also my boyfriends sister) and me and her were talking about makeup and she was showing me some of hers then she really kindly gave me some so I was exited to try the stuff out today.

The first thing she gave me was the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer highlighting pen:

I was really happy to receive this because I have the matching foundation.

this is my new favourite foundation so I was happy to get to try the concealer highlighting pen too. It gives an instantly-awake appearance to my face, and a soft glow to the skin. Very similar to the cult classic 'YSL Touche Eclat.' love the rose gold packaging.

Below is a pic of me with the highlighting concealer pen under my eyes down the nose and centre of the forehead like the Kim kardashian highlighting trick 

Then I buffed it in with the 'real techniques' contour brush.

Next Amy gave me the L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara:

this mascara is amazing, really separates the lashes nicely, and also love the packaging.

Amy also have me the Maybelline Color Sensational Cream Gloss in Nude Pearl:

This is a nice nude lipgloss for when you want an effortless no makeup look and it smells amazing sweet and fruity.

In the picture I was also wearing my loreal lumi magique light infusing foundation,  mac studio fix powder, loreal bronzer '06 bronze' and 3 Eyeshadows from the naked 2 palette bootycall in the inner corners of my eyes and below my brows, half baked on the lid and tease in the crease.

Then Amy also gave me 2 nail polishes Maybelline MNY nail polish 461 copper and Rimmel lasting finish 705 tangy tangerine as you can see in the first pic.

Maybelline MNY nail polish 461 copper only need 1 coat because it's really opaque.

And lastly Rimmel lasting finish 705 tangy tangerine this 1 is quiet sheer so you need 2 or 3 coats.

May favourites 2014

This month there have been a few products that have really stood out to me, obviously I could talk about all the bronzers that I love and lipsticks etc but I'm just going to talk about the products that have specifically stood out to me this month.

The first product I'm going to talk about is umberto Giannini backcomb in a bottle, I have eyed this range up in boots for such a long time and I don't know why iv never tried them before, I got this aswel as the princess purrfect hot styler spray and plump & sexy volume conditioner they were around £6 each and I have been loving all 3 products so I will definitely be trying out more. Backcomb in a bottle stood out to me the most because whenever I usually tease my hair I could never seem to get that big back comb look maybe a little bit using loads of products making my hair feel gross and would probably go flat again straight away, so I tried this out for the first time after I baught it wich was towards the end of May but straight away it was love at first use, I actually got the big backcomb look by just following the easy instructions on the bottle so for me this is a miracle product and it smells gorgeous.

Next is Katy perry meow perfume. My boyfriend surprised me with this about a month ago because he knows I love anything to do with cats, iv been loving this perfume it smells sweet wich I love and it's it's light pink with rose gold coloured metal wich I love but you can't really see in the pic, and it's collar had an M for meow but my name is Michaela so it's my initial aswel and it doubles as a ring.

Next is dove summer glow + soft shimmer.

I used to love the origional summer glow years ago but then I stopped using it when I started using at moritz wich I also love, then when I was going on holiday to prestatyn last month for 5 days I picked this up from superdrug because I love glowy looking skin wich this one gives you, and I was using it there every other day sometimes I did it at night and sometimes I did it in the day because I love the look it gives you when you put it on, even if you put it on the night before you wake up with a light natural looking tan and glowy because of the subtle shimmers but they wash off when you take a bath so your just left with the tan, I prefer the look with the shimmer though that's why I sometimes used it in the day and I'll continue to use this through the summer.

Next is soap and glory make yourself youthful rejuvenating facial serum and Johnsons hydrating 24hr day cream with SPF15

Iv been using these 2 products together everyday through May the face serum I use after I wash my face with soap and glory peaches and clean cleanser (wich should also be in my favourites really because iv been loving that) the face serum is a gel light formula but dries really quickly it claims it's 'clinically proven SUPER-YOUTH™P3000 pentapeptides, wrinkle-depth-reducing DELINER™, a circulation-stimulating oxygen complex, and special TEWL-reducing moisture-trap matrix. It targets all the usual suspects – fine lines around the mouth, eyes and forehead – and is a fast fix when your age shows up on your face! Suitable for all skin types.' I don't know if it is doing any thing to fine lines because I don't really have that many but it does make my skin look and feel smoother. 

Then after this I use the Johnsons day cream wich I have really enjoyed and I didn't think I would and iv used it all up in a month or 2, when I ran out of my beloved lush celestial face moisturiser I bought this just to do me until I repurchased celestial but I have really loved using the Johnsons one it doesn't smell as nice as celestial and the texture is totally different but I think I'm going to repurchase the Johnsons one because the price difference, Johnsons is only around £3.99 at the most and lush celestial is around £12 and you get around the same amount of product in both I think you get 5g more in the Johnsons one, as you can see it's completely empty iv tried scraping the last bits out as much as I could.

Next is the maybelline instant anti age the eraser eye. 

Iv been loving this for under my eyes and on any blemishes it's the best conceler iv ever used, I'd heard good things about it but I didn't expect it to be as good as amazing as it is. Iv never really been a concealer girl but this has converted me I use it every day.

Next is the naked 3 palette, but mainly nooner eyeshadow it's a matte eyeshadow I usually prefer shimmer but I'm loving this one and using it alone for a simple eye I apply it all over the lid and up into the crease and on the bottom lash line and just add mascara. Here is a swatch

Iv also been loving mac woodwinked eyeshadow

It's a veluxe pearl finish looks gorgeous with a tan and Iv been wearing this the same way as nooner iv either been wearing this or nooner if I want just a simple pretty everyday eye look, or I add another eyeshadow to them for a more dramatic look.

Next is sleek blush by 3 Pumpkin

Iv been loving this blush trio it has 3 gorgeous summery blushes intensely pigmented so you only need to lightly dab your brush in so this palette will probly last me forever and there's 3 different shades in it so it's great for any look.Maybelline baby lips peach kiss.

This feels so soft on the lips, smells amazing and has a sheer peachy nude tint to it and iv been wearing it none stop.

Last but definitely not least sleek lipsticks

Barely there, peaches & cream and tangerine scream, I only recently got these the end of May but iv been loving them so much I had to include them these are the only 3 Sleek lipsticks I own but when I have more il be doing a seperate post with swatches on my lips so you can see what they look like on.

Below is a pic of me wearing tangerine scream love this colour bright orange lips are so in this summer and this is a dupe of mac morange and it's a lot cheaper.

Touch of purple makeup look

Touch of purple makeup look with 4 different lipsticks.

I originally did this makeup look with mac st germain lipstick but then I decided I would try it with a few other blue toned lipsticks mac snob, creme cup, and candy yum-yum.

The products I used:

-rimmel wake me up foundation

-naked 3 palette shades nooner, buzz and dust, And blackheart.

.

Nooner all over lid going just above the crease, buzz and dust on the lid over the top, and blackheart on top and bottom lash line like an powder eyeliner.

-mac nylon on tear-duct and brow bone.

-primark false lashes

-lancome hypnose star mascara on top and bottom lashes.

-maybelline the eraser eye concealer under the eyes.

-chanel les beiges healthy glow sheer powder.

-urban decay naked flushed palette native. I used the bronzer to contour, then I used the blush on the apples on my cheeks and blended back a bit, then I used the highlighter above my cheeks, down the centre of my nose and a bit in my forehead.

-To fill in my brows I used sleek brow stylist in medium

-for lipstick I used 4 mac lipsticks, to see what each 1 looked like with the makeup.

Next I tried snob wich is a similar colour but a bit more wearable.       Snob (satin)

Next I tried creme cup wich is similar to snob but a bit more nude.   Creme cup (cremesheen)

Then last but definitely not least my favourite mac lipstick candy yum-yum. This is the most different out of them all it's a bright neon pink.   Candy yum-yum (matte).
