Michael kors bronzer... Is it a dupe for tom ford bronzer

Michael kors bronzer beam from the glam collection

Michael kors has 3 different bronzers
-Gleam from the glam collection (the one I have) and it's the deepest golden bronzer
-glow from the sporty collection I think that one is almost matte
-flush from the sexy collection wich is more of a blush shade pinky/coral colour.
Left michael kors bronzer right tom ford bronzer they're similar in size and both have 21g product so will last a wile.
Left michael kors. Right tom ford
As you can see they look quite similar, and they are both made from the same company.
Michael kors left. Tom ford gold dust right
(Sorry the lighting in the photos isn't very good).

The bronzers are quite similar but the michael kors one is darker and more pigmented.

I love both bronzers but iv been using the michael kors one the most just because it shows up on me better and the michael kors bronzer is around half the price of the tom ford bronzer so that's really good.
I think the tom ford bronzer is around £68 and the michael kors bronzer around £34.

October birchbox uk 2014

October Birchbox UK 2014

the picture above are the items that came in my October birchbox

these are the products in the bag, this is how they were packaged in the box.

Above is the card with the information about the products that came in my box.

 cattier pink clay face mask

KMS California HAIR PLAY Dry wax

Shaveworks The Cool Fix

Pixi shea butter lip balm (honey nectar)

Meaningful Beauty glowing serum

Birchbox lipstick pen

This has been my favourite box so far but its only my 3rd box. I was a little disappointed by the last one because the only things I was happy to see is the benefit eye cream and the beauty blender but neither have really worked well for me so for me it wasn't worth it although I have been wanting to try the beauty blender and its ok but I just prefer my zoeva or real techniques buffing brush.
from my first birchbox the august one I still really like the nude progrnious treatment oil and the vasanti brightenup! enzymatic face rejuvenator and a couple ither things but there the products I would repurchase from that box.

my thoughts on the October box:
-I was happy to see another little makeup bag because I love it when the products come in a makeup bag.
- I was happy to see the lipstick pen because its girly I probably wouldn't have baught it because I lose my pens but its cool to get it as an extra.
-I love that theres a pixi lip balm because Iv been wanting a new lip balm and iv heard great things about pixi but never tried anything from the brand, and the shade (honey nectar) is right up my street and love the name too.
- I'm exited to try the meaningful beauty glowing skin serum because I loved the nude face serum so hopefully this will be good too. i'm also exited to try the Cattier pink clay face mask, although I don't usually wear face masks (because they never seem to do much for my skin) this one is pink and hopefully it is also good so I can finally be converted to loving face masks like everyone else.
-KMS California hair play dry wax: I don't usually use products like this but my boyfriend is happy to try it out so hopefully he'll like it.

the only product I wasn't really pleased to see was the 'shaveworks the cool fix' because I don't think id use it but I don't mind as long as I like the majority of the box, I was going to cancel my subscription after the September box but im gonna stick it out now, probably till at least after Christmas and i'll see how I like the next couple of boxes before I make my decision whether to keep it or not.

Rimmel provocalips lip colour

Rimmel provocalips have just come out in the superdrug and boots near me so I thought id check them out, the packaging looks nice and they are like stains on 1 side and a clear gloss on the other side, I personally don't like the gloss side of lip products like this but I love the stain, and they really do stain as i'v tried scrubbing the swatches off all day and there still slightly stained on my hand.

there are 7 shades and there are 5 shades I would buy.
below are the swatches,
skinny dipping, make your move, dare to pink, kiss fatal, play with fire.

my top 3 are, skinny dipping, make your move and kiss fatal because they are the type of lip colours I wear on a daily basis.
they are £6.99 from Superdrug or boots.
They claim to last 16 hours and to be kiss proof, transfer proof, food proof.

Seventeen instant glow shimmer brick

I was looking at the makeup in boots and I came across this, instant glow shimmer brick by seventeen. I never really look at the makeup from seventeen but I thought id give it a try since it is only £4.99 and it looked really nice in the swatch and I actually really like the packaging it doesn't look or feel cheap at all, it feels really sturdy.

a swatch of all the strips together

I'm wearing the shimmer brick in these pics, it doesn't look to shimmery when its on, it just gives a lovely bronzy glow to your cheeks, I definitely recommend it and the fact that it is only £4.99 is amazing.

Autumn make-up edit

Autumn make-up edit

Its sad to say bye to the summer but I actually like autumn. At first its still nice-ish weather so you don't even realize summer has come to an end, then you get Halloween (my birthday), then bonfire night and then its winter and you get Christmas and then finally January sales then it goes down hill for me until next summer.

so I guess its time to switch up from the summer bronzed make-up looks to berry tones.

-mac studio fix foundation
-Collection lasting perfection concealer
-Rimmel stay matte powder
-Topshop bronzer
-Illamasqua blusher (thrust)
-smooch eyeshadow duo (filthy rich) I just used the rusty copper shade
-Rimmel brow this way  for the brows
-a clear mascara over the top (isnt really clear any more)
-Loreal miss manga mascara
-Topshop lipstick (armour)

I forgot to include the real techniques blush brush in the picture, I use it for powder, bronzer and blush

maleficent makeup

I just watched the movie 'maleficent' for the first time and I'm obsessed so I decided to try to recreate Angelina jolie's makeup from the film.

For this look I used:
(I already had on basic makeup from the day before I started, foundation(mac studio sculpt), powder (mac studio fix),
brown eyeshadow (from the I heart chocolate eyeshadow palette),loreal miss manga mascara, ardell Demi-whispie lashes.)
- I then added bahama mama bronzer for a heavy contour
- more dark eyeshadow all around my eyes
nars lipstick jungle red

Enhance your hair colour with tea or coffee

A few months ago I started having allergic reactions to brown hair dyes both permanent and non- permanent. I've dyed my hair for years and had been fine but since I had the first allergic reaction a few months ago, even if I use dyes I'd previously used I still get reactions they go within a day or 2 but it isn't worth the risk.

In the past iv seen posts about dying your hair naturally with tea and coffee and never thought to try it because it seemed messy and time consuming and the results were always so subtle but I decided to give it ago my self but I haven't followed the instructions completely iv just done it my own way to make it a bit easier for me.

I just want to make my hair look a bit more rich because it's looking very dull, and the caffeine in coffee is good for hair growth aswel.
I put 5 teabags in boiling water and added 2 spoonfuls of coffee then left it about 20 mins in the fridge to cool (make sure you test the temperature with your finger before you put on your hair.)
Then I decided to also make a coffee conditioning mask so I mixed 5 spoonfuls of coffee with a few spoonfuls of the black tea and a few pumps of conditioner and stirred by the end I think I used about 10 pumps of conditioner.

First I tipped the tea onto my hair this was very messy and harder than i thought it would be it was just dripping off and going everywhere so I was glad I also made the coffee mask because it would be easier to apply to my hair than the tea because it's thicker because of the conditioner.
Me with the tea in my hair, as you can see It just looks like I wet my hair so I don't know if it would have done anything, I  only left it on for 10 mins before applying the coffee conditioner mask straight on top of it.
I also got it on my face as you can see in the pic.
I left the coffe hair mask on for about 30 mins then washed It out with shampoo and conditioner.

Left: before.  Right: after
There's not really much difference in the colour but my hair did feel really soft afterwards, and in person it looked like some of the colours in my hair stood out more.

Then I curled the ends of my hair aswel

Then I decided to plait bits of my hair to make it look like a headband
