Small beauty haul plus my new bag

Small beauty haul plus my new bag

The reason for this purchase is because annoyingly I dropped my favourite 'makeup bag palette' (the urban decay naked flushed palette in strip) and the bronzer smashed everywhere and I was so p****d off because I love having it in my makeup bag because it's the perfect size and I use it every day soni had to buy a new one straight away.

Here is a pic of my broken palette
:( so sad.

Debenhams was having a promotion where if you spend £40 you get a free mystery gift and since I was running out of my favourite foundation mac fave and body I bought that aswel but had to get the smaller 50ml version because they didn't have the 120ml in my shade.

The free mystery gift
-Estée Lauder makeup bag
-Estée Lauder advanced night repair
-Estée Lauder sumptuous bold volume lifting mascara.

I was hoping for a full size freebie but I do wanna try the Estée Lauder serum and I'm always happy to recieve a free makeup bag.

My new bag
Michael kors hamilton east/west satchel.

I decided to buy this bag because I usually only buy big bags but I wanted a smaller one for if I go out or to use as an every day bag if I don't wanna carry everything with me and it still fits the essentials in it so I love it.

Girls night out with st tropez

Girls night out with st tropez tan

Me, my sister and 2 of our friends went out last night and me and my friend Kayleigh got ready together and we both used st tropez wash off instant tan so I thought I'd do a post about it.
This is a blob of the st tropez instant tan on a tanning mitt.

This is a pic of me putting the tan on Kayleigh because I forgot to take pics of me applying it on myself.

We both really liked this tan and because it's instant and wash off it's great for a night out.

I didn't have anything bad to say about it I really liked it and I loved the bronzy look it gave me.
Kayleigh however found that it clinged a bit to the hairs on her arms when we were rubbing it in with the mitt, so she decided to shave her arms lol then she liked it because it blended flawlessly.

I also love the st tropez bronzer it's a really good matte bronzer it was better than I expected it to be and it is now one of my faves.

Here are some pics from our night out (only me and Kayleigh wore the st tropez instant tan, I had it on my body and my face but Kayleigh just had it on her body but didn't put it on her face.)

Cheshire oaks and Trafford centre haul

I went to cheshire oaks and Trafford centre last week so I thought of do a post on what I got, I already did a review on the Nars 'blame it on nars' palette but I got it from selfridges in Trafford centre so that's why it will be in this post.

First I went to cheshire oaks with my sister, niece and my boyfriend because he drove is there, cheshire oaks is a discount outlet in the uk.
The first shop we went in was the cosmetic company store and I just got the Estée Lauder bronze goddess perfume 100ml the rrp was around £43 but it only cost around £33

Next we went to michael kors and I ended up getting a bag and a purse
I think the bag should have been £270 but it was £179.
The purse should have been £130 but it was £89
There both made from a soft pebble leather, the pictures don't do them justice.

My sister also bought a bag and purse from michael kors if your interested in seeing the picture of hers she has it on her Instagram https://instagram.com/rachel_higginson

Then a few days later we went to the Trafford centre

Me and summer (my niece) you can just about see a bit of my bag next to me in this pic.

Rach and summer. (Summers bag is from river island).

We went to victoria secret and me and Rach both got matching jackets (she saw it first and it looked good on her so I decided to buy it too) it was £52
Pic of me wearing the jacket.

I went to selfridges and got the Nars 'blame it on nars' palette £45 (I reviewed it in my previous post) and Mac mineralize skinfinish natural in light plus £24.

I was also looking at the bags, purses and jewelry in selfridges but couldn't decide whether to get something at the time, but then I got my boyfriend to take me back there 2 days later and I tried on a michael kors ring but it was one size and it was too small for my middle finger and I didn't want to have to put it on a different finger so I ended up getting a vivienne westwood purse because I loved the colour and the rose gold orb.
This was £130 from selfridges. I probably shouldn't have bought it because I'd just bought the michael kors purse a few days before but I just thought it was so pretty, I'm still using the michael kors purse as my every day purse so I might use this purse for special occaisions.

I got a few other things but were birthday presents for people so not putting pictures of them.

May makeup

May makeup

Instead of doing a may favourites I decided to do May makeup, my most wore makeup look from may.
-loreal lumi primer
- mac face and body foundation I sometimes wear it on its own or I sometimes mix it with loreal true match foundation
-Bourjois silk edition powder I do change up my powders depending on my skin but I was mostly using this one
-too faced chocolate soleil bronzer under my cheek bones
-estee lauder bronze goddess bronzer on my cheeks nose and forehead to bronze up my face
-mac pro long wear blush 'eternal sun' (bottom row middle blush in my mac palette) I either used that or before I got that I used mac sunbasque blush but that isn't in my palette
-mac eyeliner 'violet underground'
-too faced chocolate bar eye shadow palette I used 'hazlenut' and smudged it in to my eyeliner to smoke it out and blended it under my eyes and into my crease then used 'champagne truffle' as a brow-bone highlight
-the lipstick iv been wearing pretty much everyday is Mac velvet teddy
-for mascara iv been using L'Oreal volume million lashes mascara extra black

a closer look at the too faced chocolate bar eye shadow palette it actually smells like chocolate and the eyeshadows are so pigmented and blend really well.

Spring makeup picks

Spring Makeup Picks

This is the makeup iv been carrying around in my handbag recently, I love how the makeup fits in the little makeup bag without looking bulky.
-Markus Lupfer makeup bag (Tatler freebie)
-Loreal La Palette Nude eyeshadow palette
-Chanel le volume de chanel mascara
-Givenchy mister light instant light corrective pen
-Maybelline colour tattoo eternal gold
-Mac kinda sexy lipstick
-Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque 'Rosé on the Rocks'
-No7 precision lip pencil 'Nude'

The first swatch on the left is the maybelline color tattoo eternal gold then the rest are the loreal palette without a base underneith, the Eyeshadows would look even better with a base underneith but I wanted to have the swatches without so they would be true swatches.

The Loreal palette looks like the YSL Tuxedo palette but the Loreal one is under a 3rd of the price, I think Loreal bought YSL from the Gucci group in 2008 according to marie claire so that's probably why the eyeshadow palettes looks so similar.

Top 3 brushes for contouring

My top 3 makeup brushes for contouring
I love contouring with bronzer so I thought if share my top 3 brushes, a bit about them and wich is my favourite.

My newest brush is the real techniques bold metals flat contour brush
(Here is a pic of it when it was new in the box)
It was £22 from boots the main attraction was that it's a pretty rose gold colour and that I don't have a brush this shape. The bristles are soft but dense, making it easy to pick up product and I dab it under my cheekbones to make them look more defined. People say it works really well with cream bronzer but I use powder bronzer so I wouldn't know.

-real techniques sculpting brush
I ordered this from very for around £10 but they have it in superdrug but it's in a set with another couple of brushes for around £22 but I just wanted the one brush. This is probably the easiest to use for me because is use it in the same way as the bold metals contour brush but because it has an angle and it's a little less dense I find it a little easier to use but there's not much difference.

-Charlotte Tilbury powder & sculpt brush
I like the rose gold ferrel on this brush and like how the bristles are slightly tapered so it fits well in the hollows of your cheeks this brush was £35 from selfridges. I like to use this after iv used one of the other 2 to define the contour even more with a slightly darker bronzer. These bristles aren't as dense as the other 2 but there not as soft either it feels a little scratchy on the face compared to the other 2 brushes but it doesn't bother me and I still really like this brush and I feel like I would have less chance of messing up my contour with this because it does a smaller area of the face because it's tapered so I have more controll.

I used to use the mac 168 before I had these and that's good too but I'm just preferring these at the moment.
